Katherine Wood, MPH is a Research Associate with the Traffic Injury Research Foundation (TIRF). Current projects at TIRF include the evaluation of an alcohol ignition interlock program, a comprehensive evaluation of driver education, and a study assessing risk of impaired drivers. Prior to working at TIRF, Katie worked as a Health Researcher at the Tampere School of Public Health in Tampere, Finland. She received her Master of Public Health from Indiana University in 2009 and has experience in public health research and research promoting behavioural changes. She also worked as a Research Assistant with the Indiana Problem Gambling Awareness Program and with the Tobacco Retailer Inspection Program both at the Indiana Prevention Resource Center at Indiana University in Bloomington, IN. She has a strong methodological and statistical background, excellent written and oral communications skills. Katie has experience in various types of research, both qualitative and quantitative, including survey research and program and policy analysis. Her experience within the field of public health also provides a unique perspective when dealing with road safety issues.
